“What makes it such a good hunting knife? Well, here goes.
It is not too big or unwieldy, with a nice drop-point, guthook, full-tang blade with a lovely curved sweeping belly, which allows more effective length of flaying per blow if you get your wrist working. For the satin-finished 3.5-inch blade length, the 4mm thickness at the spine provides ample strength to prevent flexing. The 3CR14 stainless steel formula, like a super 420J, but for the addition of Chromium and Molybdenum, means it is tough, corrosion resistant enough and takes and holds a great edge. From the factory it shaved my arm easily.
The base of the spine sports six 1mm deep "ruts", which provide great purchase for the leading finger over the blade. The stainless steel bolsters are integral, appearing to be forged as part of the blade. The brass-lined stainless steel pins and the brass lanyard hole through the classy black linen micarta scales are faultlessly executed. Complete it with a snap-lock black Cordura sheath and you have a nice package”.
